Some roots stay with you.
PermOasis grew from the belief that land, useful work, nourishment and human connection belong near one another.
PermOasis Retreat Ltd. · Project focus: New Brunswick, Canada
Care was something people did.
PermOasis begins with the kinds of things that once seemed ordinary to Tyler Clark: food from the garden, preserves waiting through winter, tools kept in working order and a willingness to help someone who needed it.
His grandmother Phyllis made food and knowledge useful. His grandfather Bob could have five projects underway and know where every screw and washer belonged. Sometimes the thing he was fixing belonged to someone else. When it went back, it was stronger than before.
Bob built solar water-heating panels from old windows and flexible plumbing. He turned a rowboat into a speedboat. The lesson was practical: imagination becomes valuable when you learn how to make it work.
A place to belong should also be a place where care becomes useful.
Foundations. Food. Systems. People.
Building & technical work
Tyler’s background includes commercial and residential construction, electrical engineering technology, web development and entrepreneurship. Those experiences bring attention to sequence, systems, maintenance and practical limits.
Food & hospitality
Farm work and culinary/hospitality experience connect growing food with preparing something people want to eat and creating an experience that feels considered.
Personal development
Experience in hypnotherapy, breathwork, Reiki and trauma-informed practice brings attention to choice, personal history and the different ways people find a useful beginning.
Plants & ecological thinking
Kristin and Sweetlife Flora bring plant-focused experience into the wider project vision. The relationship between living systems and practical infrastructure is central to how PermOasis is being shaped.
Private lives.
Shared responsibility.
A living landscape.
People should be able to build a meaningful life without giving up their individuality. A community can support shared roads, knowledge, opportunity and stewardship while respecting a closed door, separate income and personal boundaries.
The land deserves the same care. Its forest, water, soil and habitat are part of the project’s value, and should shape decisions from the beginning.
PermOasis welcomes individuals, couples, families and households across identities and backgrounds. Respect for difference, accessibility considered in design, and freedom from harassment and discrimination are part of the intended culture.
This is a project in development. Trust will be earned through clear information, competent work, honest updates and how people are treated along the way.
There is room for more than one kind of contribution.
